The newly inaugurated Global President of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association, Oluseyi Idowu, has reaffirmed the association’s commitment to leveraging the strength, skills, and network of its members to contribute meaningfully to the university’s growth and development.

Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during the official inauguration of the new global executive council, Idowu emphasized that the alumni body under his leadership would work collaboratively to build a vibrant, purpose-driven community dedicated to the progress of their alma mater.

The new executive council is composed of distinguished alumni who will serve a four-year term. Members include: Oluseyi Idowu – Global President, Folasade Olusegun – Global Vice President, Ige Isijola Ige – Vice President 2, Olumide Abudu – Global Secretary, Mustafa Ajadi – Assistant Secretary, Hakim – Treasurer, Sunday Adelokiki – Legal Adviser, Blessing Adebayo – Financial Secretary, Olusola Fayemi – Technical Secretary, Muyiwa Cole – Welfare Secretary, Asetunji Aribasoye – Public Relations Officer, Ransome Sanni – Auditor, Daniel Akande – Social Secretary, Adebayo Akinyemi – Ex-Officio

In his address, Idowu highlighted the council’s vision to foster a dynamic alumni ecosystem that not only uplifts EKSU’s status but also enhances academic and infrastructural development through strategic collaboration and resource mobilization.

“Together, we will harness the collective passion, resources, and expertise of our alumni to drive meaningful progress,” he stated.

“Our goal is to strengthen the bond between the university administration and the alumni community, ensuring mutual growth and lasting impact.”

Delivering a goodwill message during the event, Professor Afolabi Popoola of EKSU’s Faculty of Education commended the alumni association for its continued contributions to the university’s advancement. He acknowledged that EKSU alumni have consistently demonstrated dedication through donations, influence, and involvement.

Popoola urged the newly inaugurated exco to build upon the solid foundation laid by their predecessors and sustain the momentum of growth and support.

The outgoing Global President, Dipo Bamisaye, expressed his gratitude to the Board of Trustees, the immediate past executive team, and the wider alumni community for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He reflected on the progress made and expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to carry the torch forward.
