Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, has welcomed the newly inaugurated Global President of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association, Ambassador Seyi Idowu, and members of his executive council during a courtesy visit to his office.

Governor Oyebanji, while receiving the team, expressed deep appreciation for the alumni association’s unwavering support during his election campaign. He also commended Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, the immediate past Global President, for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the association and the university.

The Governor reaffirmed his confidence in Ambassador Idowu’s leadership, promising full support for the initiatives outlined by the new executive. He described the alumni association as a vital partner in the continuous development of EKSU.

Responding to a request for mobility support, Governor Oyebanji pledged to personally donate a new bus to the alumni association to enhance its operational capacity. He also affirmed his backing for the construction of an Alumni Centre, underlining his dedication to strengthening the alumni network and its impact on the university.

Governor Oyebanji praised the current leadership of EKSU, describing it as one of the best combinations in the country: a strong university management, a competent council, a forward-thinking Vice Chancellor, and a vibrant alumni body. He noted that this synergy has earned EKSU the recognition as the Best State University in Nigeria.

He further disclosed that an anonymous alumnus is sponsoring the construction of a new faculty building, and the Ekiti State Government has concluded plans to build the Faculty of Pharmacy, reinforcing government support for infrastructural development in the institution.

In his remarks, Ambassador Idowu expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and thanked Governor Oyebanji for his ongoing commitment to good governance in Ekiti State. He paid special tribute to Asiwaju Adetuberu for his leadership within the alumni community and lauded Engr. Bamisaye for his achievements during his tenure.

Highlighting the Governor’s pivotal role in the creation of Ekiti State, Idowu described Oyebanji’s journey from a committee secretary to state governor as a powerful example of dedication and visionary service.

The Global President appreciated the appointment of several alumni into key positions in the state government and commended the Governor for being a true ambassador of EKSU.

The meeting served as a powerful affirmation of the strong ties between the Ekiti State Government and the EKSU Alumni Association, reinforcing a shared vision for the university’s continued transformation and excellence.
