In line with the renewed commitment of the current leadership of Ekiti State University Alumni Association to deepen academic and institutional partnerships for global relevance, a high-powered delegation led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Babatola J. Ayodele and the Global President, Amb. Seyi Idowu was in the United Kingdom today to explore and facilitate a strategic foreign collaboration with one of the prestigious universities in the UK.

The visit marks a significant step in the institution’s internationalisation agenda and aligns with the university’s vision to expand its academic footprint, research exchange, digital innovation, and capacity development through robust global partnerships.

The Global President, who has consistently advocated for enhanced alumni involvement in the university’s development, expressed confidence in the outcome of the collaboration talks.
Also on the delegation were Dr. Soji Ehinlanwo, Chairman of the Eminent Persons Group (EPG), and Prof. Adedayo Owolabi, a distinguished member of the EPG. Their presence underscored the pivotal role of the alumni association and its stakeholders in supporting the university’s growth through meaningful external engagements.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Mr. Mayowa Ogunlola, Deputy Registrar, VC’s Office, who provided administrative coordination and support for the visit.

The deliberations held in the UK are expected to yield substantial benefits, including joint academic programmes, staff and student exchange initiatives, professorial mentorship, and collaborative research—especially in emerging areas such as Cybersecurity, Engineering Management and Business Management.

This move reaffirms EKSU’s ambition to become a hub of academic excellence not only in Nigeria but across Africa and beyond.
